Dr. M. Omar Faruque
(1962-2009)

We are deeply shocked to announce the demise of our Managing Director, Dr. M. Omar Faruque (47), on October 24, 2009 in Singapore General Hospital after a long fight against brain cancer. The void that has been created by the sad passing of our dear Dr. Faruque in our company can never be filled.

Dr. Faruque was born on January 01, 1962 in Pakundia, Kishoreganj. He was a brilliant student and a talented cadet; received his secondary and higher secondary education from the Mirzapur Cadet College, Tangail. He completed his MBBS degree from Mymensingh Medical College in 1989.

He was a successful entrepreneur and excellent administrator. In 1993, Dr. Faruque took over the responsibility to establish Islami Bank Hospital in Bangladesh.

After successful launching of Islami Bank Hospital, Dr. Faruque founded Insaf Diagnostic and Consultation Centre, The Barakah Foundation, The Barakah Kidney Hospital & Research Institute Ltd. and The Barakah General Hospital Ltd. He was the key person to reorganise the Delta Pharma Limited in Bangladesh. Dr. Faruque joined as the Managing Director of Delta Pharma Limited in 2000 and worked until his death.

Dr. Faruque left behind his mother, wife, one son, two daughters and many other well-wishers.

We convey our deepest heart-felt condolences to his family. May Allah give his family the strength to bear this sudden shock.
